10 Random Shoe Tips That Every Shoe Diva Should Know

Tip #1: Light colored shoes have a slimming effect.

Tip #2: Dressy shoes can be versatile. Wear them with a pair of jeans to dress up your look but still be comfortable.

Tip #3: Metallic shoes (i.e. gold, silver, white gold, platinum) will dress up a casual outfit and enhance the look.

Tip #4: If you get tired of the original color of the shoe, dye it a darker color, and voila, you have a new shoe.

Tip #5: Tall boots can be worn with long skirts, mini skirts, and skinny jeans, but be sure to tuck the jeans into your boots.

Tip #6: Transition your high heeled open toe sandals to the fall and winter by wearing them with hosiery or the new trendy fall socks.

Tip #7: Pointy toe shoes are ideal for women with larger feet. It makes your feet look smaller, because the shape of the shoe takes away from the width of your feet.

Tip #8: If you have thick ankles, do not wear shoes that have a strap that crosses your ankle. Sling backs or closed back shoes are more complementary.

Tip #9: When breaking in a new pair of shoes, wear them around your home doing chores and standing or freeze a sandwich bag with water in your shoes then defrost for 20 minutes.

Tip #10: A chunky platform or wedge style shoe vs. a strappy shoe will make your foot look smaller.

Post a shoe tip to the blog. We would love to hear it!!

Top 3 Stylish yet Comfortable Shoes

One of the woes all women have in common is how to combine style and comfort. Why should we have to give up ‘sexy’ for comfort? Here are three shoe styles you can rock to achieve both.

Ballerina Flats
You have seen the ballerina style shoe – the ones inspired by ballet slippers. First Lady Michelle Obama rocks them on a regular basis. They’re a versatile shoe that you can sport with jeans (especially skinny jeans), skirts (at the knee or higher), capris, and shorts. This style tends to make your leg look shorter though, so adjust the length of your garments accordingly. For example, short legs should rock them with a shorter skirt showing more leg. If you feel like dressing up the outfit, get them in a metallic color.

Wedge Heels
Wedge heels continue to be popular this season. This heel is one of the most comfortable you will ever wear. You tend to forget the height of the heel, because they provide excellent support running from the heel to the toe. If you’re not experienced with wearing heels or you want to try a higher heel, you may want to start with these, because they are a lot easier to walk in. Keep in mind that they come with a low heel and a high heel – it’s your choice. Rock them with all types of skirts, shorts, boot leg or flared jeans, and dresses. Stay away from tight fitting clothing though.

Platform Heels
Platform heels tend to be more comfortable also because they provide great support at the balls of your feet and the heel tends to be sturdy. Some of the more recent styles feature stiletto heels so stick with the more traditional heel for comfort. Rock them with shorter length dresses/skirts or boot leg/flared jeans.

You have three great choices. Sport the ones that flatter your body type the best. Remember, although they’re comfortable, they are not made for a marathon so wear them in moderation.

What other comfortable styles do you have in your closet?
